IRS Releases PCORI Fee Update:

On November 14 th , the IRS announced in Notice 2022-59 that the adjusted applicable
amount for the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research (PCOR) Fees is $3.00 for policy
or plan years ending on or after October 1, 2023, and before October 1, 2023.
The adjusted applicable dollar amount for the PCOR fees for policy years and plan
years that ended on or after October 1, 2021, and before October 1, 2022, was $2.79.

What is a PCORI fee?

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Trust Fund fee is a fee on issuers of
specified health insurance policies and plan sponsors of applicable self-insured health
plans that helps to fund the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI).

Specified Health Insurance Policies and
Applicable Self-Insured Health Plans:

The fee is imposed on an issuer of a specified health insurance policy and a plan
sponsor of an applicable self-insured health plan. For more information on whether a
